Baldwin County runs two hospital facilities that pull travel nurses year-round. South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley handles emergency, med-surg, and telemetry for the southern end of the county. Thomas Hospital in Fairhope covers the Eastern Shore with broader specialty coverage under the Infirmary Health system.
Feel Good Stays provides furnished monthly rentals in Gulf Shores for nurses on assignment at either facility. We are a small, privately operated rental company not a corporate housing platform. You get a real home, a direct contact, and a lease that matches your contract dates.
Every property we rent to travel nurses is fully furnished and move-in ready. Full kitchen with cookware and dishes, in-unit washer and dryer, dedicated off-street parking, and documented high-speed internet. Utilities are included in the monthly rate electric, water, WiFi, one flat number.
Leases run contract-length or month-to-month. Eight weeks, thirteen weeks, extended contracts the lease is written around your confirmed assignment dates. If your agency extends you, we extend the lease. We do not require 30-day notice cycles that conflict with how travel contracts actually work.
Baldwin County GSA per diem rates for housing are set at a level where our monthly pricing typically falls within your stipend ceiling. We provide a signed lease, monthly statements, and move-in documentation for your agency or tax professional.
Our Gulf Shores properties are booked by three types of guests primarily.
Travel nurses on assignment at South Baldwin Regional or Thomas Hospital make up the core of our healthcare bookings. Most are on standard 13-week contracts, some extend, some come back for a second rotation. Nurses who want a functional home base not a hotel room and who want the Gulf Coast address as part of the deal.
Insurance-displaced residents through ALE arrangements book our properties when hurricane or storm damage makes their primary residence uninhabitable. We work directly with adjusters and have experience moving ALE guests in quickly when timing is urgent.
Snowbirds and longer-stay visitors from northern states fill our off-season availability from October through April, which keeps our properties occupied year-round and our operations stable.
Gulf Shores sits at the southern tip of Baldwin County on AL-182, where the Intracoastal Waterway meets the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is not a selling point we need to oversell — you know what it is.
South Baldwin Regional in Foley is 10 to 12 minutes north on AL-59 from most Gulf Shores addresses. It is a direct shot with no real traffic outside of summer tourist weekends on the highway. The drive is straightforward on any shift schedule.
Thomas Hospital in Fairhope is a different situation — roughly 40 to 50 minutes depending on whether you use the Jubilee Parkway bridge or go around through Loxley. If your assignment is at Thomas, contact us before booking. We will tell you whether Gulf Shores makes sense for your commute or whether you should look at Eastern Shore housing instead.
Day-to-day in Gulf Shores: Publix and Walmart on AL-59 handle grocery runs. The Wharf in Orange Beach is 10 minutes east for restaurants and weekend options. Gulf State Park runs 6,000 acres of trails, beach, and lake access. Mobile is an hour north if you need a city day.
Off-season Gulf Shores — October through March — is quieter, cooler, and genuinely pleasant for nurses who want low-friction living between shifts. Summer is louder and books faster.
In most cases, yes. Baldwin County GSA rates are set for a coastal Alabama market and our monthly pricing is structured accordingly. Contact us with your assignment start date and we will give you a specific number to check against your stipend.
Yes. We have handled ALE placements through insurance adjusters and can move quickly when timing is urgent. See our ALE housing page for how that process works.
Contact us immediately. We handle early terminations case by case. We are a small operation and we do not apply rigid cancellation policies to situations that require actual judgment.
Depends on the property. Tell us what you have and we will tell you what is available.
Summer contracts — book 4 to 6 weeks out from your confirmed offer. Off-season has more room but do not assume availability is open-ended. We fill October through February with snowbird guests if travel nurse bookings are not confirmed
Gulf Shores assignments come up. The stipend math usually works. The address is genuinely good.
Contact us with your assignment dates and facility and we will confirm availability the same day.
